20 is the number..

2day, i turn the magical 20, supposed to be the end of the teenage saga.. (Dint make much of a difference to me though.. ). 2day, i'm halfway thru the burdensome, boring, yet exciting course of Indian Engineering; not a big deal these days though; and yet aware of the fact that across many villages in the nation, girls my age or probably lesser, have turned home makers. Sigh. Around here, marriage is the ultimate form of settlement. And its supposedly the third person's perception of entry into adulthood. Sic.
In a world where change is the only permanent aspect, can settlement ever happen? "Yes", a whole hoard of people would echo around me. With marriage in mind. Sigh again. "I'm going to stay single". A statement such as this would evoke face expressions as if one were to go on a killing spree. As if one were to go jog on Mount Everest. Huh!
Weddings these days have become like a business contract. Lump some sums on the sprawling halls, grand display of ornaments, grander accessories and clothing, not to mention the food spread. The list can go on and on.. Its more like a couple of days to flaunt off your assets and possessions. Not to mention the bride's family, the ultimate shellers of most Indian weddings. And the dowry. Omg!
When will the world ever get of such notions, and when will individual perceptions be given values, and choice be openly accepted, then will we really live in the modern era.
P.S.: Sorry if the blog wasn't worth reading. :(

"The" Teacher

The skool is the place wer almost all of us spend, say, most of our childhood. N then der re nurtured drmz of college. All in all, the first quarter of life is spent in academic pursuits. And der enters the teacher. A teacher is some one who is in close circuits with each of us, and at times ends up knowing more of us, and how to handle us. The teacher motivates, pushes n propels us 2wards wereva we wanna be. Now tats the ideal teacher. But where??
Gone are those days when der was some one 2 luk in2 our faults, n yet manage 2 find a silver lining in them, much 2 our delight.. N tat, was the teacher. Today the teacher is more of some one who walks in2 a four walled room, churns out facts n stuff on a black board, goes around for a walk in the classroom and manages 2 get the money. Wer s d attention.. n wer s d space.. tis ultimately lead 2 d drain of the ideal student. The student has 2 face a tougher world, which expects a person to juggle things, evolve as a dynamic individual, apart from a hundred and one responsibilities over the head. This means ppl who make it 2 d educational institutions , i.e, students and teachers, are no longer interested in each other, neither in wat dey do.. so academic institutions have become biz hubs over the yrs.. dey churn money, come wat may, even be it the big devil called recession.. dey probably wud end up as economic zones, wer real money can be analysed.. I don mean 2 say tat teachers n students no longer really exist; wat i imply is the decline in standards n quality.. The gud ones in the lot do exist, n 'm quite proud of em, dey who silently leave a mark upon us n be d positive change in us, n i thank em. Dis is a real crisis; It may sound really dumb 2 say tat, but den, changing tis wud really lead 2 a nice whole new world. Academic institutions wud be the ones in their real sense. Hope that very day is not really far..

God! I can sense..

Goody God made us all; really really special creatures.. He claims we've six senses.. (?) and this coupled with virtues all, we must make the best lot on planet earth.. Do we? No, is my answer. I just feel we could live better. In a better world. We re all working out a 48 hour schedule on a 24 hour day.. and by the time 48 becomes 480, we must do serious things. Science claims the human brain to have a mammoth capacity, probably as much as a super computer.. but whats the point? there is no space for emotions, hard hearted attitude is all around, n wat not. Life has shrunk to a great extent, thanks to technology, and we live within our own shells, enclosed in our own worlds. We dunno if a neighbour exists, and we really don know if any one is around. And to live in a world like this, jus to go around saying how communication has grown leaps and bounds, bridging gaps across nations, and at the same time, building bridges between men. Fingers are busy with the keys, eyes with the LCD, and a mind clueless on wat it really means to live.
Mother Nature has been looong forgotten. She is a thing of the past, and I fear she'l be no more one fine day. The color green wil be outta the spectrum one day, n den i leave it to ur imagination as how tat day wil be. Breeze and wind would be things of the past, and the rate @ which electricity would need to be generated would probably be faster than the average human being's breath rate. Robots would start replacing me n u.. And tat would be the end of God's dreamed world. Have we ever felt the other person's pain? Experienced the joys of sharing both pleasure n pain? Its high tym we did, one day. And that day realisation wil dawn upon us that those joys are invaluable. Beyond the joys of "Message received" and "123 unread". Beyond things. Like the joys of the rain drops on ur face. Those of the first sun rays on earth. The first leaf on the ground during fall. The first flower that peeps out of its tree to wave u a hi in spring.. Mmmm.
